This course, A Beginner's Guide to Creating Artwork for 2D Video Games, is designed to provide an introduction to the basics of creating artwork for 2D video games. Led by Pete Jepson, a game design teacher with over four years of experience, this series will show students how to create a range of 2D art, including static and animated graphics, character sprite sheets, and tile sets. No prior experience or sophisticated art skills are required; all that is needed is a computer and a mouse. The software used is free to use online. By the end of the series, students will have the skills and artwork necessary to create their own video game. Questions and comments can be posted in the Q & A section, and Pete Jepson will respond as quickly as possible.
