What does this course tell?
(Please note that the following overview content is from the original platform)Animation is an emerging medium of communication. More and more learners are aspiring to learn and make a career in this domain. However, animation training is expensive due to the high cost of proprietary animation software. This course is designed using an open source 3D animation tool: Blender, to create a sustainable solution for animation skill development. Individuals interested in developing skill sets for 3D animation should take this course in order to learn the nuances of 3D animation and Blender. The course has 4 weeks of content, which cover the basics of key-framing, timing, and animation principles. The course comprises slow paced video tutorials, quizzes, activities, and hands-on assignments. During the course the learners will be creating simple animation motion, using Blender as a tool. The course has video tutorials explaining the concepts and the software process required to create these animations. The tutorials are designed such that the learners will be able to apply these concepts to create similar/new animations. This course focuses only on animation of non-organic objects (not covering character animation), as the education domain requires motion of such objects. This course is a part of Professional certificate program 'Fundamentals of 3D visualization'. Other course in this program is Basic 3D Modeling using Blender. This certificate (combining 101x and 102x is a prerequisite for other certificate programs on: Architectural visualization and Game creation.Show moreWe considered the value of this course from many aspects, and finally summarized it for you from two aspects: skills and knowledge, and the people who benefit from it:

What skills and knowledge will you acquire during this course?
During this course, learners will acquire the following skills and knowledge:
1. Understanding of 3D animation principles: The course covers the basics of key-framing, timing, and animation principles, providing learners with a solid foundation in 3D animation techniques.
2. Proficiency in using Blender: Learners will gain hands-on experience with Blender, an open-source 3D animation tool. They will learn how to navigate the software, use its features, and apply them to create animations.
3. Creation of simple animation motion: Through video tutorials and hands-on assignments, learners will create simple animation motions using Blender. They will learn how to apply the concepts and techniques taught in the course to create their own animations.
4. Application of animation skills to non-organic objects: This course focuses on animating non-organic objects, such as those commonly used in the education domain. Learners will gain expertise in animating objects that are not characters.
5. Preparation for further certificate programs: This course is part of the Professional certificate program 'Fundamentals of 3D visualization'. By completing this course, learners will fulfill a prerequisite for other certificate programs on architectural visualization and game creation.
Overall, this course provides learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to start a career in 3D animation using Blender, offering a cost-effective alternative to proprietary animation software.
Who will benefit from this course?
