This course provides an overview of the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), a routing protocol used to exchange routing information between autonomous systems on the Internet. The course begins with a video presentation by Jim Kurose, a professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which covers the basics of BGP, path advertisement, iBGP and eBGP, and forwarding tables. The course also includes a textbook reading from Computer Networking: a Top-Down Approach (8th edition) by J.F. Kurose and K.W. Ross, which covers Section 5.4 of the book. Additionally, students can access additional open student resources at http://gaia.cs.umass.edu/kurose_ross.
