This course provides an introduction to MATLAB and Simulink programming. In Section 0, students will learn about what MATLAB is and how to install the software. Section 1 introduces students to the MATLAB environment, toolbars, and ribbons. Section 2 covers the fundamentals of MATLAB programming, including variables, arrays, matrices, arithmatic operations, relational operations, logical operations, root, trignomatric, and logarithmic operations, some statistical commands, and other useful commands. Script files and function files, input and output representation, graphical representation, structures and data formats, conditionals, and loops are also discussed. An example task is provided to demonstrate the application of the concepts. Section 3 introduces students to the Simulink environment, toolbars, and library. Commonly used blocks such as bus selector, bus creator, scope blocks, data type conversion, constant, display, ground, terminator, in-port, out-port, gain, product, sum, unit delay, mux, demux, integrator, and discrete time integrator blocks are discussed. Logical and relational operator blocks, as well as various toolboxes and their usage, are also covered. Finally, a few examples of Simulink are provided.
