This course, Make Better Video, will provide students with the fundamental notes of filmmaking. Students will learn how to read film, study a frame, and understand the tools used by filmmakers to engage audiences and tell stories. They will also gain the skills and capacity to create short films using nothing more than a mobile device. Content creators for YouTube or for online courses will benefit from this course, as it will not only give them a solid foundation but also help them to think outside the box.
In addition, students will learn about point of view, how filmmakers pose questions within a sequence of shots, and how mise-en-scene works at a subconscious level to hold engagement. They will also learn why suspension of disbelief is no longer the prevailing view of how our minds work with film.
