In this course, Dr. Nancy D. Chiaravalloti will discuss techniques to enhance learning and memory in healthy persons, as well as those with Multiple Sclerosis and Traumatic Brain Injury. She will cover a structured treatment protocol, the modified Story Memory Technique (mSMT) and its critical ingredients, context and imagery.
Dr. Chiaravalloti is the Director of Neuropsychology and Neuroscience and of TBI Research at Kessler Foundation, Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers University -NJ Medical School, and a licensed psychologist in NJ and NY. She has obtained over 13 million dollars in grant funding since starting her professional career in 2001.
This course will provide an overview of the evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of these techniques, as well as the opportunity to learn from Dr. Chiaravalloti's extensive experience in the field. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to improve learning and memory in healthy persons, as well as those with Multiple Sclerosis and Traumatic Brain Injury.
