This Altered Book Art Journal Workshop is perfect for beginners with no experience needed! All that is required is an old book and a few supplies to create a creative art journal. Participants will find inspiration from the contents of an old book to make a few creative art journal spreads, and have some mindful paint play. The instructor will provide a book to use, but participants can use any old book they don't mind transforming into an art journal. The workshop will begin by choosing a book and supporting it so that it can handle the paint and materials that will be used. Then participants will play with paints and collage! They will create a spread inspired by a chapter from the instructor's book on "Bees" as well as a spread inspired by words from the book, and create some abstract backgrounds that can be added to with images and/or words whenever the inspiration strikes. This is a great project to let the mind wander, relax and enjoy the creative process.
