This Meta Android Developer Certificate Program is designed to teach students the essential Android programming concepts and tools needed to develop applications. Students will learn how to use the Kotlin Playground, create user interfaces (UI) for mobile apps using Android Studio, manage the lifecycle and data collections of mobile applications, work with web technologies and persistent data on Android applications, and describe best practices for designing the UI and experience for mobile applications. Additionally, students will learn how to create cross-platform applications using React Native and prepare for technical interviews for Android developer roles.
Throughout the program, students will engage in hands-on activities and build a project-based portfolio that they can show to recruiters and potential employers when interviewing. Activities will include designing the UI using Interface Builder, creating simple UI using the Layout Editor, and building a native Android mobile app. In the final course, students will complete a Capstone project where they will create an Android app.
Upon completion of the program, students will get access to the Meta Career Programs Job Board—a job search platform that connects them with 200+ employers who have committed to sourcing talent through Meta’s certificate programs, as well as career support resources to help them with their job search.
This program is ideal for those who want to learn the fundamentals of Android programming and create their own mobile applications. With the skills and knowledge gained from this program, students will be well-prepared to pursue a career in Android development.
