This course, Conflict Management: Negotiation, provides an overview of the negotiation process as a cooperative conflict management strategy. It will cover the variables that influence negotiators’ behaviors and strategies, as well as the psychological processes at play before, during and after any negotiation. Participants will gain an understanding of how to identify optimal options that satisfy their own interests and the other person’s interests simultaneously. Through a mix of theories and practical exercises, participants will learn how to effectively manage conflicts and negotiate in various contexts.

The application of this course is to equip participants with the necessary skills to effectively manage conflicts through negotiation. Participants will be able to identify optimal options that satisfy their own interests and the interests of the other person. They will also be able to understand the psychological processes at play before, during and after any negotiation. Furthermore, participants will be able to recognize the variables that influence negotiators’ behaviors and strategies. With these skills, participants will be able to effectively resolve disputes and reach mutually beneficial agreements.
