This course, Foundations of Objective-C App Development, provides an introduction to the Objective-C programming language. It is designed to prepare learners for more extensive iOS app development and build a foundation for advanced iOS development topics.
In order to complete this course, learners must have access to a Mac laptop or desktop computer. An iOS device is optional, but learners must be willing to work exclusively with the simulator. Some learners have been able to work with an OS X virtual machine on Windows, but this is not covered in the course.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to read and write Objective-C, have a strong grasp of Objective-C objects, organize their code professionally using objects and blocks, and prototype several entry-level apps.
[Applications]
Upon completing this course, learners can apply their knowledge of Objective-C to create their own iOS apps. They can also use their knowledge to contribute to open source projects or to develop apps for clients. Additionally, they can use their knowledge to pursue more advanced iOS development topics, such as Core Data, networking, and animation.
