This course provides an overview of reverse engineering with Siemens Solid Edge 2021 Academic Software. Participants will learn how to create native surfaces on top of imported data by using mesh cleanup tools to remove any errors that may have resulted from the import process, allowing designers to obtain a workable set of triangles. Once a sound mesh is obtained, regions can be identified and created, and those regions can be further extracted as surfaces and edited using traditional surface modeling tools. Participants will also learn how to use Solid Edge's intuitive mesh cleanup tools to remove specific facets or mesh regions, fill holes and smooth the mesh, as well as how to use the Identify Regions tools to find logical facet shapes and prepare the geometry for analytical surface operations. By the end of the course, participants will have a better understanding of how to use Solid Edge to create native surfaces on top of imported data.
