This course introduces beginners to Substance Painter and teaches them how to create a AAA quality rune sword with PBR textures and emissive glowing runes. Students will learn how to import meshes, bake mesh maps, use layers, masking, adding fill layers and grunge maps, using curvature to get edge wear and highlights/shadows, filters, modifiers, post processing effects, realistic and stylized techniques, hand-painted looks, emissive materials, adjusting bake parameters, exporting textures, creating materials and applying textures in Unreal Engine and Unity. By the end of the course, students will be able to professionally texture their meshes to make beautiful game assets.
