This course provides guidance and clarity on the Value-Added Tax (VAT) treatment of supplies made by municipalities that are registered as VAT vendors in South Africa. As municipalities are treated, as far as possible, as ordinary VAT vendors with effect from 1 July 2006, the general VAT rules as set out in the VAT 404 – Guide for Vendors are applicable. The course covers topics such as definitions and concepts, agent vs. principal, types of supplies, input tax, adjustments, and miscellaneous matters. It is presented by Ruzel van Jaarsveld, who has over 23 years of financial and bookkeeping experience. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of training and 9 verifiable CPD points from the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT).
