This course provides an overview of 3D video compositing, including instant video background removal (chroma key), special effects layering, and 3D video compositing. Participants will learn how to remove (chroma key) color backgrounds from videos, convert alpha videos into transparent popVideos, composite real actors into 3D virtual sets, create 3D video effects inside a 3D environment, create virtual studios & sets inside a 3D real-time engine, use videos and color grading to create realistic outdoor scenes, employ revealers and video layering effects, and integrate videos into a 3D scene. The course is designed for general video editors who wish to learn about 3D video compositing, but can be easily picked up by anyone regardless of their past experience or skill level. Participants will use iClone 3D animation tool, along with popVideo 3 an instant video background removal tool, to composite real video footage with special video effects and CG assets inside a virtual 3D space.
