The Kenny C. Guinn Memorial Millennium Scholarship is used to bestow additional scholarships each year to four qualified Gov. Guinn Millennium Scholars, two each in Northern and Southern Nevada, who are majoring in elementary or secondary education with the intent of teaching in Nevada.

The Eye-Bank recognizes outstanding students with the Young Ambassador Scholarship in Memory of Christopher Nordquist. The annual $3,000 award to an eligible student is made possible through private contributions given to The Eye-Bank in memory of Christopher, who was two when he died and left the gift of sight. Eligible students must reside within The Eye-Bank’s service area: New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange Counties).

Students whose parent(s) served in the U.S. Armed Forces during specified periods of war or national emergency and, as a result of service, died, suffered a 40% or more disability, was classified as missing in action, or was a prisoner of war are eligible to apply. The veteran must currently be a New York State resident or have been a New York State resident at the time of death. The applicant must be pursuing an approved undergraduate degree at a college or university located in NYS.

The NYS Aid to Native Americans Program assists enrolled members of a New York State tribe and their children who are New York State residents and are attending, or planning to attend, a college in New York State.

Fordham University awards multiple scholarship levels to students based on academic achievement and financial need

Ascend Educational Fund awards scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to immigrant students and children of immigrants who are graduating from a New York City high school to attend public or private colleges and universities, regardless of ethnicity, national origin, or immigration status.

The Horatio Alger Association, through the generosity of its members, provides aid to students in all states who have displayed integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity and demonstrate critical financial need.

Established by the family of Cosimo DiBrizzi and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce to honor his memory, this scholarship is available to any resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley who is pursuing a career at the Culinary Institute of America. (Mid-Hudson is defined as Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam and Ulster counties.)

Established by the family and friends of Dennis Markle the scholarship is available to a graduating student of Poughkeepsie High School or Millbrook High School planning to major in Education (students planning to major in History will be considered if there is not an appropriate candidate who intends to major in Education). The scholarship shall be applied to tuition costs at an accredited college or university in the United States.

Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarship provides financial aid to children, spouses and financial dependents of individuals killed as a direct result of the crash of Continental Airlines Flight 3407 in Clarence, New York on February 12, 2009. This program helps families who lost loved ones cover the cost of attending college in New York State.
